KofC Coat Drive for KARM
Please clean out your closet and bring your coats to the Knights house (Car Port) Nov 19 – 21st.
Kevin will pick them up to bring to KARM on Sunday 22nd.
Bring old well-worn jackets and coats, no sweaters, pants, etc. (men’s and women’s). These donations will mean a lot to many that can use some help this winter.

Novena for the Cause of Life – October 4-12
The defense of life and the promotion of human dignity in every stage and condition are preeminent concerns of the Knights of Columbus and the entire Church.
From October 4-12, during Respect Life Month, Knights are called to join all Catholics in prayer with Pope Francis for an end to abortion, euthanasia and the many social ills that bring illness, broken families, unhappiness and premature death, especially for the most vulnerable.
During each unique day of the novena, you can reflect on a quote selected from the teaching of Pope Francis on the sanctity of life, pray a decade of the rosary, and conclude with St. John Paul II’s prayer from Evangelium Vitae. By reflecting on the teachings of Pope Francis and calling upon the help of Our Lady for 9 days, we can deepen our commitment to the Gospel of Life and support the most vulnerable through prayer. The prayers and reflection for the novena can be found here.

Successful Fall Festival Spaghetti Dinner
This could not have been done without the help of everyone. It took the whole parish to make this the success it was (is). I am so blessed to be involved with great guys that love the lord, the parish, the community and each other.
These times have made things difficult but we have found a way to bring people together and with the help from God, Father Shelton and Father Pontian and the whole Parish, we can do anything.
Thank you for all you do!

Dear Knights of Columbus,
Words can’t adequately express my most sincere thanks for all that you did to make this year’s drive-thru Spaghetti Dinner a success. Success for me this year is defined as reaching out to our parish and local community. The pandemic has isolated so many and any opportunity to engage and interact with each other is a blessing both to those who initiate contact and to those affected by that contact.
The many hours that go into the Spaghetti Dinner from planning, to ordering, to food prep, to hauling all the equipment and food up to the Columbus Hall, to cooking, to serving, and then to cleaning up and hauling it all away are so appreciated by me, by Father Shelton and Pontian, and by your fellow parishioners and the community at large. We just can’t thank you enough for your generosity of time, talent and treasure.
As the chairs of the 2020 Virtual Fall Festival, Lupe and I would like to offer our sincere gratitude for the monetary donation that the KofC #3175 has also made in sponsorship of the Festival. Your generous donation will cover the entire cost of the 10/17/2020 movie event! We would also like to thank you in advance for volunteering to man the “American Grill” on that night. The parishioners are looking forward to these events and we anticipate that they will be well attended!
Thank you again and may God bless each and every one of you,
Denise Miller and Guadalupe Mayorga

Mt. Zion Baptist Church Community Project
The Knight were approached about assisting one of their parishioners of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Scarborough Community.
Some background on the family. Henry and Lavada Chisholm moved to Oak Ridge in the mid ’40’s, when Henry “Muscle Man” began working at Y-12 doing concrete work and Lavada worked as a hairdresser for the ladies of the community. Henry began doing concrete work outside of Y-12, so if you lived in the area in the 50’s through the 80’s and had concrete poured it’s likely that he was there. They have been prominent members of their church, Mt. Zion, since they arrived and helped many folks in the community. Sadly Henry passed away some time ago and their home has fallen into disrepair and Lavada (95) is unable to get around the outside of her house. Members of Mt. Zion have done quite a bit of the repair, however, this job is larger then they are able to handle on their own.
The job. Demoing about 200 square feet of concrete sidewalks around the home and disposing of it. Prep and create form for new concrete and pour and finish it.
The “prep” weekend, with members from Oak valley Baptist Church, Mt Zion Baptist Church, and St. Mary’s Knights (Ray A, Dave Z, Robert H, Chip D and Dennis U):
