The Knights are hosting a unique event on Monday, May 18th. All Saints will be hosting the Knoxville leg of a multi-state tour of the relics of several saints and blesseds who are collectively known as the Mexican Martyrs. They were martyred during government unrest in Mexico in the 1920s and were recently canonized/beatified. Their feast day is May 21st. Several of these canonized saints were members of the Knights of Columbus and we hope to share their witness with the entire diocese community. The goal of this public exposition and veneration is to help bridge the divide between the English and Spanish speaking communities in our diocese and to prompt greater cooperation, understanding, and fraternity. As you all know, Blessed McGivney founded us to serve the immigrant community of his day. This event will help further his mission of outreach in our own day and time. There will be exposition and veneration of the relics at All Saints between 7pm and 8pm on Monday, May 18th in the sanctuary followed by a closing Mass at 8pm that evening.
Los Caballeros están organizando un evento único el lunes 18 de mayo. All Saints será sede de la etapa de Knoxville de una gira por varios estados de las reliquias de varios santos y beatos que colectivamente son conocidos como los Mártires Mexicanos. Fueron martirizados durante la inestabilidad gubernamental en México en la década de 1920 y recientemente fueron canonizados/beatos. Su día de fiesta es el 21 de mayo. Varios de estos santos canonizados fueron miembros de los Caballeros de Colón y esperamos compartir su testimonio con toda la comunidad diocesana. El objetivo de esta exposición y veneración pública es ayudar a cerrar la brecha entre las comunidades de habla inglesa y española en nuestra diócesis y fomentar una mayor cooperación, comprensión y fraternidad.
